dear brother
i received your leter and if ever i was glad to hear from home it was now i have not been very well for a few days the day that we came here i gave out and had to lay down by the side of the road and they sent an ambulence wagon after me but i am geting better now and think i shall bee all right again in a few days i went out and help get brakfast this morning i have not had any regular examenation yet and i guess that we are not going to have any ether for we have all been mustered in and drawed part our uneform i do not know whether i shal get a furlow / or not but i shal try as soon as our our captain gets back and we draw our money tell the girls that when they get back with there bures i wish they come over and fetch over a few and fetch over a few for me tell them that they must wright nekt time has ellen got home yet if she hase tell her that she must wright to i have got sixty men cook for and you may bet it keepes me buicey enough i have not time to wright any more to day so good by for this time from your brother J. H. Turner
