Darwin S. Hatch to Sarah M. Shaeffer, 11 January 1903
Purdue University.
Jan 11, '03.
My Dear Mother.
Yours received. There is not much to tell this time. Went skating for a little while out to Columbia Park last night. Bought a sweater, $4.00. Pair of gloves $1.50.
It is snowing and blowing in big drifts. / I expect there will be lots of bobsled rides and so on in the crowd on account of this snow. There is no gas here but they bring plenty of wood. Got a bad cold, but hope you are not enjoying the same blessing. /
Hope you are all well and that Father does not have to make many long drives this weather.
Yours,
With Love, Darwin
