                        Dear Sister
As we have received marching orders I thought I would write you a few lines. We have orders to pack up everything & have 3 days rations in our haversacks & be ready to march at a moments notice. It is reported that the whole line has marching orders & it is likely we are going to march on Centreville & Manasses although we do not know where we are going. I am in the best of health at present I will not be able to take / all that I have collected & so I will have to leave some things. I send my likeness along with this I could not get enough of stamps to put on it & perhaps you will have to pay something on it I got a letter from Bob the other night, he was quite well. Now Dear Sister I must close as they are packing up all around me & I have no time to write more You will probably here where we are gone to through the newspapers so direct your letters accordingly. I hope you got the letter I sent to Mother. Write soon Give / my love to all my respects to all friends & good bye & believe I remain as ever

Your Affectionate Brother
