Dear Farther as Harvy Allen is a going home I will drop you a few lines to let you know that I am well & I sent my overcoat & a gug & a Black Botel & some pokes & some bulets in a poke Farther you will find them at Uncle Jessees if he gets through with them
Wee have got orders to march & I have just come off picket & have not time to write you a long leter But I wrote only a few days ago & I will tell you I eat diner yesterday at too oclock & at ten today I eat a half a pint of coffee & a small peace of corn bread & will not be due any more till tomorow I shall close write soon & give my love to all enquirers

Please to send me something the first chance you have & oblige me for I certainly kneed something O there is a going to be dreadful work before long I fear I shall close so fare you well to farther & Mother WC Harris
