My dear Brother
it is with much pleasure that I take my pen in hand to answer your letter of the eight I received it the 14 but I thought that I would wait till I got here to answer it I am well once more and hope that when these few ill written comes to hand they will finde you all the same we got here this easter morning at day brake and found a very muddy place but the fruit trees is all in bloom you sayd you wanted me to / tell you how I like the army I will tell you as near as I can I dont like it very well by my self but if you was with me I would like it very well but I will soon git yous to it I sent my close back there somewhare to Hopevill or to uncle James I dont know which by Mr Fullerton you can tell Father about it tell Hannah and Bazle to write to me Maria and David must do the same and all the rest must do so to you can tell all the girls that I would like to take easter with them but that will do to think of only. tell Caroline slats and aunt and all the rest to write to me / you sayd if I wanted any money to let you know well I need some but you need it more than I do wee expect to start to Pits. Bargh Tenisee in a few days for to fight the seceders but dont get alarmed for me for if I fall I will try to fall in sigh of God you can get the girls to gather some place on my birthday and sing dixy and think of me
