Deir Sister I afiew days ago received your kind and Sisterly letter of nov but previous to that several days I received Brother George of Dec boath of which gave me the pleasure in learning that you were all well. I am in tolerably well good health. We have left Va and are now at Bowlingreen Kentuckey. There are I understand over 100000 one hundred thousand men here I do not think that there will be any fighting here for some time I expected to have been home to sea you all before this time but circumstances have been so that I could not do it our Regiment was ordered to South Carolina and were one days travel on our way when our orders were countermanded and we turned back to Bowlingreen Ky. We spent all of our christmas on the cars we were on them 8 or 9 days. I do not know how long we may have to stay here if we are not attacted by the enemy we may advance on them soon or we may be ordered South. I would be glad we could get to go south for the winter. I would rather we could stay here in the summer as we could get plenty of good watter. We are pretty comfortably situated now we have plenty to eat and chimneys to our tents I want you to write to me / Direct the letters that you send to me
