Dear wife I this morning imbrace my self with the oportunity of droping you afew lyns to let you no that I am enjoying tolerable health at this time hopeing these few lyns may reach and find you enjoying the same kind blessing I received your letter on yesterday evening which gave me great satisfaction to hear that you was al well but sorry to hear that you had ben unwell for some time back I can inform you that I have had a verry severe attact of the measels but I have got a bout well again tel Henry and Catharine Jane that I dont no when I will come home but when I do I will try to bring them a present of some kind as tha rote to me to do tel Jackson that we / intend to kill old abe if we can get the chance we are a waiting for a chance to get to kill him or some of his union friends tel Jackson that i intend to bring him a present when i come home for his spunk tel Benjamin that I would be glad to see him but I do not no when it will be for wee dont no when we will have to leave here tel Mary that I am mity glad to hear of hear of har being such a strong cecessionist tel them all that I would be glad to se them all and I will bring them all a presint when I come home tel linda that I think if she has such a good one to right next time she mite a put a part of it in that one while she had plenty of paper for I am a frade she will be scarce next time /
A few lyns to Wm Mowe & family I was glad to hear that you was all well I would like for you to right to me as often as you feel like takeing up that much time for I would be glad to hear from you at any time I have not got narry letter from none of you over there since I left there until yesterday
Amarada I want you and the children to right to me as soon as you can and let me no how you are geting along we are all a bout the same as we was when we left there So I must bring my few lyns to a close So no more at present but remains your affectionate
