Elizabeth L. Filler was born around 1871 in Virginia to Armistead and Lydia Filler. His father was a farmer who owned $21,000 of real estate and $2,500 of personal property by 1870. She grew up and attended school in Lovettsville, Virginia. She married Edward W. Turner around 1892, and they had two children: Edward, born around 1893; and Lillian, born around 1894. They lived in Baltimore, Maryland, and her husband worked as a traveling salesman. They moved to Abington, Pennsylvania, in the early 1900s. Her husband died in 1947, and she passed away in 1956.
