Mary E. Wadley
Mary E. Wadley (maiden name: Forehand) was born on October 7, 1841, in Tennessee to Blake Forehand. Her father was a blacksmith who owned $650 of real estate by 1850. The family moved to Travis County, Texas, in the 1850s, and she married James G. Wadley around 1858. They had at least eight children: Mary, born around 1865; George, born around 1867; Martha, born around 1869; John, born around 1872; Elizabeth, born around 1874; James, born around 1877; Ruby, born around 1879; and Samuel, born around 1881. They lived in Springfield, Texas, and her husband worked as a saddler. By 1860, they owned $1,000 of real estate and $800 of personal property.
 
They moved to Red Oak, Texas, in the 1860s, and by 1870, they owned $1,000 of real estate and $1,200 of personal property. By 1900, they were living in Justice, Texas. She died of paralysis in Palmer, Texas, on August 6, 1919.
