Ruth give my respects to John Walker and all your relatives and friends but be careful of strangers and enemyes and rebbels for there is some in your town. now my dear wife i think i will come home between this and newyears if i am alive i am some better this morning. how are my family or friends yes how are you do you nead money or

Now i will write to J Walker some other time
 
i think i will save some money to send to you before long this is a beautiful City but what of that it is full of rebbels but it will be [faded]
 
that is we will burn the town before we will give up the city
 
our guns Seage guns could level the large brick buildings in 20 minutes thats so yours untill death       JGS
