            Dear Sister
I received your most welcomed letter of April 29th yesterday and was very glad to hear from you again and learn that you and all the friends wer well. your kind letter found me enjoying the same blessing. and I am happy when I think that I am alowed to enjoy the blessings of health and have the privilidge of hearing from my friends at home and know that they are enjoying them selfs. I am very thank full for thoes flowers you sent me from my native home and doreyard / that my kind mother used to take so much comfort a fixing. I cant hardley make it seam but what she is there yet insted of martha a sending me presents but we have good reason to believe mother has gone to a better world and I hope we may live so that we may join her some day again in that better land.

we are having very pleasent weather hear at the South now and every thing is loveley now as the war is closed and we have nothing to do. there has bin a good deal talk about our going to texass but the report came the other day that kirby Smith had bin assasinated and his force had surrendered so every thing was peaceable now and the boys think we will all be home soon. and I think myself it looks very much like it this morning Genl Steals Darkeys have bin marching in town this morning. they came from / montgomery, and the talk is that they are a going to relieve the 13. A.C. from this place, but if they do it will be some time before we get home. for if you remember the army was not made up in a hurry and it wont be mustered out in a hurry, for it must go in a milatary order. You wanted to know when I wanted that other pair of socks I cant tell yet if you have not sent them keep them till you hear from me again I will send you a magnolia blossom as soon as I can. I sent a stem of arborvirlie in some papers the other day and will send more I will have to send the magnolia the same for it is a large flower and I am afraid it wont be very nice when it does come for it staines as it wilts it is a pure white while fresh the tree grows to be very large and the body looks some like a large peach tree. if I had a flower I would send a lief or a piece in this but I will / send one in a paper soon.

well as for that gall of mine I hardley know what to say about her complexion for I have so meney but they are all good looking I am sure I hurd yesterday that James McConnell had gone home on a ferlough and gus prentiss must be home before you get this so you will know more about them than I. the rest of the boys here are all well except Gelius Carr he is going home soon Capt fairchild started this morning I believe you wanted to know something about B. F. Vann. he is well I believe I dont think he has growed much down South but perhaps he may he is acting assisting Provost Marshel here in the City of Mobile I dont see him very often he all ways speaks to me when I meet him. Well I must closer hoping to meet you soon

            I remain your affectionate
                        Brother Wilson Nevyus
