Jane Nevyus (maiden name: Dunlap) was born around 1800 in New York. She married William Nevyus, and they had at least two children: Peter, born around 1825; and Wilson, born around 1838. They lived in Pulteney, New York, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1850, they owned $2,500 of real estate. A decade later, they owned $2,500 of real estate and $700 of personal property, and they employed at least one “house servant.” Her husband died in New York on August 30, 1863, and she passed away on May 1, 1864.
