Friend Nathl
I have been quite busy during the last four weeks, doing up the work which accumulated during my vacation or I should have written before this—I understood by Elihu Thayer that you were at home the Sunday before thanksgiving and I suppose you remained till after that day. How did the sale of Uncle Levis place turn out. I presume he has not left his place yet, and I guess he wont just yet—Barsy must keep cool & / let his hair grow—

I hope you are enjoying yourself with the bretheren at Enfield. How are all the boys there. We are having lots of good shows in this town. At the Boston Theatre the Ravels are performing—I went a day or two ago to see the performance called the Magic Pills—it was pretty cute & made me laugh enough to last a month. I wish you were down here at this time as you would enjoy it Ordways Hall is in full blast. the Darkeys as funny as ever. ditto the Museum, National Theatre &c &c Has that Hall been dedicated yet if so give us an / account of the Dance &c There is considerable excitement here about Captain Brown who is to be elevated this day—and I suppose it affords some talk in NHamp. How do you get along painting? are you going to remain at Enfield all winter. let me hear from you soon—and next time I will try and Illustrate, that is if you do yours, so send an illustrated to Your friend
