Capt
Thinking that you might be uneasy about your final Return of C.C. and G.E. as Regtl Adjutant I take the liberty of writing you a few lines to inform you why they have not been sent you for signature. I made them up on the first of the month and the Col Comdg told me to wait until the arrival at Hd Qrs of Lieut. Kepner be fore I for'd them to you. I have made the required affidavit in regard to the loosing of the Cavly great coat & trowsers and I would like to know what you would have me do in regard to the two Mosquito Bars one of them I have & the other you let Mr Tachow have as they cannot be dropped as / worn out without the action of an inspector. I can turn them over to the Lieut by telling him that I have them both on hand and if you wish it done as I can easily make one to make up for the one you let Mr Tachow have. the Col went to McRae the 25th and has not got back yet. I have been very busy since my arrival back at this post fileing and makeing up the records of the regt for last year. I will have no little work and trouble completing them for 1865, but for the time that you was Adjutant they are complete please let me know as soon as possible what I shall do in regard to the articles mentioned herein as I want to have invoices and receipts of the made out when the Lieut arrives so as there will be no delay in for'dg them.
I Am Very Respectfully
