Fort Bliss Texas
May 21st 1867

My Dear Nellie
No letter yet. it seems like an age since I heard from you. am in hopes that my letter may reach me soon as I am getting almost discouraged of ever hearing from you.

I am all O.K. shall start to day for Ft. Craig dont think much of the idea almost 200 miles to try three or four cases will be gone some two or three weeks probably.

Our fort is washing away probably am in hopes it will stop soon or we will have to move out before I get back.

The weather is fine rather warm some of the time.

I will write you from Craig / if "Mr L." does not get my top knot they are getting to be very bad running off stock & killing people expect we will have our hands full to keep them any where.

                                                                                    Please remember me to all
write soon & all the news
                                                                                    I am ever yours Truly
