Sir I have the honor to make a Statement in regards to Sergt Weidner, & Corpl Wright of Comp D. 5th U.S. Infantry, who did leave camp yesterday morning about (10) ten oclock without any permission from me or any Officer, and returned this morning about (6) six A.M. I have also to state that Corpl Wright was put under close arrest by Capt. Butler. Private Steiner of the same Company left camp about (7) seven P.M. yesterday and has not returned yet
