My Dear Nellie
I will write you a few lines to let you know that we have arrived all safe and sound and shall start in the morning for Ft. Union with a prospect of going on to the States this fall. I am hopes that to be the case.
I left Capt. Day all O.K. it was my birth day while at Selden and it was just five years the 12th since I enlisted little did I think of remaining in the service so long then. well my prospects of geting out is quite good now. I have no news to write. Pleas write & direct Fort Union N.M. we will get there by the middle of Sept. I think
