It may take some time yet to get one for him for they are very slow in such things we are still in winter quarters. about 3 miles from Fredricksburgh this is the third time we have built our winter quarters. I think we shall probably stay here six weeks yet or at least untill the spring mud is dried up & pleasant weather comes we have a very pleasant place for our camp & every thing convinant where we are to move in the spring no one knows the 9th Army Corps has left to go south. you wrote that you had received an order from the St Treasurer for my allotment pay you can do as you think best with it & all will be right. the weather here is quite warm. it rains to day & somewhat muddy Please give my love to all the frinds tell them to write often I must now close Please write soon & I remain your affectenate Son.
