John W. Albright to William O. Albright, 2 January 1873
Union Mich Jan 2/73

Dear Bro & Family.
                        As J H has gone to Adamsville and not being very busy myself I thought I would write you a few lines, Hoping they may find you enjoying good health; We are all well excepting Father. he has failed some for the last 4 months but I think he is failing faster the last few days I am afraid he will not get out much any more. he has a great eal of pain in his breast on the right side, his right arm is almost helpless; /

Our Minister Bro Fisher held a meeting at the Chapel which lasted almost 3 weeks. it was attended with some success. I believe Bro Fisher is a good man, he makes our house his home like when he is in this part of the Country. I like him better than Bro Seathman or Bro Hetzler. he made himself so familiar every body liked him.

We recd a letter from Jacob last Monday (the same day we recd yours) he stated that he was going to write you a letter too;

Well how about the panic in your part of the Country. did you feel it.

So far we are having an open winter, have not had any / sleighing yet. Christmas and New Years, both beautiful days.

Tell Arty Santa Claus did not leave much in this part of the Country.

We felt the panic a little, but it did not affect us hear as much as in larger places;

I still stick here like a tick have only been out of the store 4½ days since I was married which was 5 months ago the 27 of Dec.

Emma and I expect to take a visiting tour about the last of this month;

we want to go to Jacobs and to Noble Co Ind.

I am busy on Sabbath days too generally. 2 and sometimes 3 times a day to meeting of some kind or other. / last Sabbath Emma and I had quite a trip. Emmas Sister and her husband came out to see us and last Sunday about 1½ Oclock PM we left here went to Trout Creek heard Bro Fisher preach, from TC to the River Class where Bro A L Markley and I held meeting for Bro Fisher, in the evening, from there to Bristol where we stayed until most about 2 Oclock and then came home, got to bed monday morning about 4 Oclock, Hows that.

I must close.

I will write often with regard to Father and let you know how he is getting along.

Sat morning 3rd
Father still has very severe pain. he is up much of the time during the night. write soon
                                                                                    Your Bro JWA
