Dear Mother
I recd your letter of the 18 inst in due time it had been some time since I
have heard from house the last since I wrote we were in the Rapp River since then we have expernenced many hard marches now the Rebbels have been driven back across the Rapp River and I dare say they will not undertake another flank movement I think we may stay here some time but are liable to move at any moment The railroad which was totaly destroyed is being repaired as fast as possible I have just returned to my Company I am no longer in the Office of the Adjudant Generals. Thare has been but very little to do in the Office of late. and as thare wer three clerks thare could not be business enough to keep these all bussy Thare has been two just back to their Companies myself and one other. Thare is but one clerk in the Office at present and as soon as we get settled down in Camp thare will be business enough for another and I stand a good chance to get detailed again I think I have as easy a time in the Company at present as I would thare I take this opportunity of writeing because I do not know when I shall have another I must close
