Elizabeth Grice
Elizabeth Grice (maiden name: Fosselman) was born around 1838 in Ohio. By 1856, she was living in Elk, Iowa. She married David O. Grice on December 31, 1857, and they had at least four children: Ella, born around 1858; Eva, born around 1865; Frank, born around 1868; and Elmer, born around 1874. They lived in Elk, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1860, they owned $400 of real estate and $259 of personal property. A decade later, they owned $2,400 of real estate and $1,000 of personal property. They moved to South Platte, Nebraska, in the 1870s, and by 1900, they were living in Egal, Kansas. They moved to Kingman, Kansas, in the early 1900s. Her husband died on February 29, 1924. She applied for a widow’s pension in March 1924 and eventually received one. By 1925, she was living in her son Frank’s household in Kingman. She died sometime after 1925.
