Dear Mother.
I seat myself once more to write you a few lines to let you know that I am well And hope that these few lines may find you enjoying the same blessing. all of the boys are well and in fine spirits all that they want is money now yesterday we was short of rations but now we have plenty. We had a pretty hard march friday and satureday satureday morning it rained on us for the first time and i did not like it so i got a rubber blanket which i had to pay four dollars and a half for. i had but three $ and i had to get the suttler to trust me for one dolar and a half. I would like if you would send me about 3 or 4 $ and that will last untill we are payed off I suppose that you heard about our victtory at lexington and frankfort. this paper is pretty much scribbled and dirty but i had to hurry and drill so you will not think I am always so dirty. No more at pressent
Write soon.
Your son
