William H. Bone to Alvin L. Bone, 6 October 1863
Oct 6th 1863.
Dear Brother
I have not time to write much this afternoon. It has began to rain and is turning cold and we are busy building a fireplace. so i cannot write much. Mrrs Bennom Nipgen and that other fellow, i forget his name, got here after i wrote to you about sending my things and Bennom said that if we would have our things sent to his store he would pack them / so i had to write and tell you what i wanted. i want my coat vest mittens and i dont know what to say about my boots, it will cost $2 to send them alone. i will say this if you have not spoken for them and can get them already made send them or if you can get them made by the time he sends the box send them, but if you have to get them made and cannot in time keep them maby there will be another chance before long. if Mother has the socks she / may send them but if not maby there will be a chance some other time. I wear out about a dozen pair of Government socks a year and that hardly pays.
I believe there is nothing else that i want or at least i dont think of any thing else. I got a letter from mary to day. Nothing more i believe only that i am in good health.
From your Brother
W H Bone
to A L Bone.
