William H. Bone to Alvin L. Bone, 9 November 1863
Nov 9th 1863.

Dear Brother
Once more am i permited to sit down and write you a few lines, but i have nothing much to say only that i am well. Them things that you sent me came yesterday. evrything came through safe And all was right except the boots they were so small in the instep that i could not get them on. they were plenty long, and just the kind i wanted, but i have sold them this morning for $6.25 / If you can get me another pair of the same kind but considerable larger across the instep you may get them and if you cannot get any other way to send them I expect Andy Atkinson will bring them when he comes back. he is going to start home next week. I have measured my foot around the instep and back of of the heel and it measures just 13¾ inches. i thought that maby you could tell something by that. We mooved our camp last week one mile west of Nashville / it is on what was once a rich mans front yard. he makes a good deal of fuss about our spoiling it. We are guarding trains to the front I went down satureday and got back last evening. I would have got back one day sooner but the railroad spread and the whole train run in between the railing and it took us pretty near a day and night to get it on again. I get a letter from you evry week i believe. tell Mother that I dont expect her to write as much as i do you and Emma but she can tell you what to write / No more this time.

Yours truly
Wm H Bone
to A L Bone.
