William H. Bone to Alvin L. Bone, 24 February 1865
Camp Dennison
Feb 24th 1865.
Respected Brother,
As I have made it a rule to write a few lines evry week I am in duty bound to write to day. My general health is good but my wound is about the same as it was two weeks ago. I saw Hollingshead to day he has his discharge and expects to be home tomorrow. I told him that I was trying to get a pass and come / home tomorrow but I did not succeed. the doctor has gone from camp therefore I cannot get one. The Discharge board was around this week. I was marked for the first Battalion Invalid corps but expect to stay here some time yet, maby serve my time out here, but it am not certain for Millitery rules are uncertain. I have heard from that Vallentine I sent for you, also that one I sent to you / for up the road in frame house. they dont blame me for sending that one for you they think some one else sent it. Emma I want to know who that girl is you spoke of in your last letter I cant think who it is. Please send me some money in your next letter. I want you to keep account of all the money I get of you.
No more that I can
think of at present.
yours truly, WBone. /
Write soon and send that money. I am not out but if I should should have to go away I would want some.
