Dear Wife
            I am much better to day so that i can lauf and talk but i am very weak but i have got over my sickness but now i want to gain my strength and rest a wile i sent tow letters to you since i came hear but as neither one of them had a stamp on it i expect that you will not get them but i hope so i got a letter from you yesterday you see that i had not been to the rejiment in tow weeks so i could not get them but John Williamson brought them yesterday he brought me 9 letters 4 from you 1 from Charlie Whittick 1 from pool 1 from mother 1 from Sallie 1 from father with 20 dollars in it but i cannot use it now they will not take nothing but greenbacks one of your letters had one dollar in it a greenback charlie whittick has got to be the Cornels Clerk and i think he will make a very good one i got a bundle from you with a hankerchief a shirt nectie and collar i have sent a great many letters to you with Soldiers Letter on if you have not got them i wonder wat has become of them but you will get them yet i shall write to you evry day while i am in this place wich i expect will be quite a while until i get my strength / you spoke of my getting a pair of goverment shoes but we cannot get them nothing but boots them i did not want we cannot draw shoes i wish i could i would not send home for any you must send me a letter while i am hear evry time the mail goes out they keep me on tea and a slice of tost bread three times a day i am getting to be very hungry now i want more but that is all i can get they think that is enuf you must send me plenty of stamps so my letters will go you must not ask me to send you long letters for i am two weak to write to much i will be sure to send you a letter evry day i got a lot of envalopes tow i can get paper hear one sheet a day but that is all so i can only write to you i shall hury and get well as soon as i can i hope and pray that will be very soon now kiss my little boy for me and remember me in your prayers send me a stamp or two in your letters i got six in your letter i guess i get all the letters you write abe sulphan wrote you a letter wen i was first taken so you would hear about me you have never told me yet how much state pay you have drawen and i should like to know i sent you father a letter with soldiers letter i had no stamp just you see if he ever got it i hope he did it was a long letter and their was a great many things in it that i wanted him to know i answered fathers letter yesterday i want to answer pools and charlies this afternoon i sent charlie Sonberger a letter a week or two agoe i expect to get an answer soon now good bye from one who never forgets you nor never will            your Husband
