Henry H. Covert to Lucinda Van Pelt, 8 February 1865
Cavalry Corps Hospital
City Point Va.
Feby 8.65
My Dear Wife,
I am here with a flesh wound in the right thigh, not serious. I was wounded in the fight on Monday.
I have received two letters from you since I have written you but have had no time for answering them.
You need not answer this till you hear from me again. It is not probable that I shall stay here long. Send no more letters to the Regiment. I hope to be able to write myself in a few days. /

Husband,
