i mailed you a letter yesterday and as i had nothing to do i thought that i would send you a love letter you dear little wife you you do not think how i like you i can hardly think of nothing els i ought to right to your father that is our father but all the time is taking up thinking of you all the time i will have a great deal to tell you wen i come home if we do not see each other before i will tell you somthing but you must never tell it to no one it will be so much the sweeter to know it yourself alone do not tell any one that is i am coming home next winter on a furlough captin promised me one but you must not tell it he does not want anyone to know it now my dear missey you must not think hard of me for i sent you yesterday twenty dollars in a letter be saving of your money and make silcox settle with mount so i find out how my misey stands in money tell know one / how much money you have got keep it to your self pay the house rent tie up the dog if you can poor dog i would give twenty dollars if i had him hear poor dog i thought so much of him try and keep him for miney if you can if you go to trenton do not go to your aunt if you can get out of it and you will pleas me for one any how but do not tell any body wat is in this letter keep it to yourself i am your are all right in regard to wat you said see that you stay so i do not think about the wimen i think myself it is quer but it is so i have not felt like it since i left you true as i live my dear missey do not tell any more about babies for the boys finds my letters and reads them they found your last and billey read it but he said nothing he is the only one that would not have told it i shall keep all your letters and keep an account of them see if you will mine i do love you my dear misey so much that i can think of nothing els / i get in a brown study about you how often i used to make you mad but i know it did not last you was not rely mad at me was you come do tell me my dearey i do not think that i ever will make my missey cry again you must not cry wen i am away for i feel certain that i shall come back some time or other do send me your picture as soon as you can for i want it so bad shoe making is the best buisness any one can go at hear you can get lether for nothing and get 2.50 for soling and heelling sole out of old saddels i shall send them pictures this afternoon and that watch i shall send tomorrow or as soon as i get it fixed if it does not run wen you get it you must tell father to take it to trenton at the place were i took that one that i sold John i want to right John a letter and all the rest you must give the all my best love after you have taken out your share and if you love me as i think you do there will be very little left but i think of all of them very much now my deary do / not weare your welcomb out you can tell wen you have staid long enough tell them they must all right to me i am going to send your father a letter soon maybe this after noon and then you will know wen to go to rocky hill do not go to often to my father go often but not stay long i have seen more of this world my dear and know more about it i want you to dress nice very not two costly but all keep a good dress on and never go in rags as you did some times wen i was home we have got all the liberty we want hear but can not go two far for the rebs will catch us severel has taking a French Furlough out of our company but i will never dersert to save my life God knowes my life is little worth but my name and yours shall be honered as long as i have life you see that all my buisness is settled up i will owe no man a dollar not one and think more of my wife and her boys good name than i think of any thing or any booty in this world in that better world all men will be on an eaquality
