now dont forget to make me a good little needle book i wrote to Wallace and send the thread i have got to be quite a talior have to do my own sewing most of it i have to get a tailor to put my stripes on but i do most of the rest i have got lining for my overcoat and he will have to do that it is not cold hear like up home it does not last but a few days as yet i hope it will not last long i wrote to Levi to send me a diary you see that he does for 1865 the bugle has just blown to put out the lights i rely belive that i could write all night to you and the boy now you must send a big thimble or i cannot sew one open at the end and big enuf for fathers big finger i expect by the time you get this you will have my box underway do not forget to put in some sausage i guess you will get tired of reading my long letters wen i have time i think i can write a good letter if i could see / and tell you i cannot half write my head is so full a soldier sees a great deal in his life no wonder his life is so short some times you wouldent like to see me miss i know i wear a mustash and you do not like them but you could not wear any thing i would not like to see you in if you get time and have the monney to spare you can make me an other shirt make it with a rolling collar so i can wear a nectie on it i belive i will never wear anything but flanel winter and summer i had on a muslin shirt yesterday and last night i changed it you would not belive the difference i wrote a letter to John Duryee and one to his father i do not know how they will like them find out if you can now my Dearrie you must take good care of yourself and the boy and kiss him for me we captured a rebble Major and he told a girl along the road to tell his wife somthing and then he told her to kiss his wife for him / and he kissed her then Captin Robbins came up and he knew the Major it appears that the time captin Robbins was captured by the Rebbles this same Major captured him and made him take off his boots and marched him nearly dead now says Robbins off with your boots and he marched him twenty miles right through the swamp and mud and about dark it got quite cool the poor Major had to foot it bare foot right through to camp while his privates rode in captured wagons now i will say
