all the rest was hit that i know i receivd all them letters you rote three at once you know that we are not allways ware we can get a mail we did not get a while we was on that raid and that was nearly a month then we went another two weeks with out one and wen it did come in their was none for me i felt bad about it so many Friends and relations and not one letter to cheer me up after two weeks fighting evry day to day is the first day that their has been no fighting but it is not to late yet for it is only 4 oclock and i have just been on a scout through the woods me and two Sargents and one private to see that the rail road bridge was destroyed the rebs was on one side of the bridge and we on the other but / they did not see us and we got back all safe the prices down hear is the thing to be looked at you must tell pool to write again i have not got time i had to stop three times at this one and you know that it does not take me long to write one the pepol down hear is the poorest things you ever saw they all live in log houses and eat coars bredd no flour

and so on evry thing i am tired of the war not homesick but if you saw the little children with their bright little eyes look so wistful at you you could not help but cry i send you a picture of our mutton nickname Edward Myres is his right name save it up
