Dear Sister
I now write you a few lines to let you know that i am still alive we was relieved on monday night. we expected to went in to the breast works last night but did not go we expect to go to night. we are lying in the woods about half a mile back from the Breast works this is the 4th day we have rested. What kind of a time did you have in Cattaraugus on the 4th. we did not have any thing going on here of any account. their is considerable cannonading every day along the lines. the folks at home dont know mutch about what war is but still it is not so bad / as Mother would think it was. some of them has it a good deal harder than others. we have not had so mutch fighting to do as some of them has had but i am satesfied with what fighting i have done. What news is their up to Farmersville is Len afraid of being drafted how does Delt get along. who is drafted in our town this time Father speaks of Newton M Koone being drafted. I would like to see all them fellows coming down here to take a hand in the war. I expect their will be another draft shortly John Baillets and Brad Simons and Jim Locky are down here i have not seen any of them yet. when you write give me all the news I am well hoping this will find you all well
A Morrison
