Andrew Morrison, Jr., was born around 1831 in Stirling, Scotland, to Andrew and Jenett Morrison. His father was a farmer who owned $800 of real estate and $237 of personal property by 1860. Morrison emigrated to America sometime before 1855 and settled in Humphrey, New York. He earned a living as a farmer. He was drafted into the Union army, and he mustered in as a private in Company G of the 147th New York Infantry. The regiment took part in the Overland Campaign, the siege of Petersburg, and the Appomattox campaign. He died in the Battle of Hatcher’s Run on March 31, 1865.
