U. S. Sanitary Commission.
Camp in the woods near Petersburg July 24th 1864
Dear Sister
I received your letter last night and was glad to hear from you. i got the stamps and needle and thread all right. they came just in the right time for i was out of both of them. I like the needle first rate i did not see it until this morning. i thought you had not sent one. I would like you to send yours and Andrews likeness and Fathers and Mothers to me as i would like to have them. I got this sheet of paper yesterday we all got one each and an Envelope. I supose you dont mean what you say about Martin S i think that is what the widow says. how does Mary Hank get along. I dont think of any thing of any importance at present so i will draw to a close.
I am well hoping these few lines will find you well
I remain your Affectionate Brother
A. Morrison
