Anson is all well at present and he ways 162 lbs I saw foly tabor down town last Monday but I did not have no time to talk with him there was three full regiment and two Co of Cavelry and one Company of Artilry with six canons and / six horses to each cannon

I forgot to tell you that there had been twenty secessions taken here in baltimore and ther is more [hole] than you can shake a stick at in one month and they have to send a patrole after the soldiers every night A patrole is about 12 men and two Corperal and when they come to one of those houses they divide out into two Companies and then one Company goes into the house and cearches the house and the others stands back watching for them to come out we have not got our pay yit but we expect it every day

O but you cannot tell what fine times we have here we have squad drills in the morning before breakfast and Companys drills in the fornoon and battalion drill in the afternoon / and then dressperade half after five pm and then role call at 9 in the evening and now I am about ready to close up my letter
