Jerusha C. Billings
Jerusha C. Billings (maiden name: Cutting) was born around 1816 in Roxbury, Massachusetts, to Ephraim and Theodora Cutting. She married James M. Billings in Weston, Massachusetts, on April 4, 1837, and their daughter Henrietta was born around 1840. They lived in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, and her husband worked as a farm laborer and stable keeper there. In 1860, they owned $100 of personal property. James enlisted in the Union army, and he died in New Orleans on February 3, 1863. Jerusha applied for a widow’s pension in August 1863 and secured one soon afterward. In 1865, she was living in Concord, Massachusetts, in her daughter Henrietta’s household.  By 1890, she was living in Chelsea, Massachusetts. She died there on November 10, 1893.
