Henrietta Billings was born around 1840 in Massachusetts to James M. Billings and Jerusha Cutting. Her father was a farm laborer and stable keeper who owned $100 of personal property in 1860. She grew up in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. She married Lewis Pratt in Chelsea, Massachusetts, on June 15, 1862, and their son Walter was born around 1867. Her father served in the Union army, and he died in New Orleans in February 1863. The family lived in Concord, Massachusetts. Lewis worked as a grocer, and the family owned $2,000 of personal property. Her mother died in 1893, and her husband followed in 1894. Henrietta remained in Chelsea, living in her son Walter’s household. She moved to Troy, Massachusetts, sometime in the early 1900s, and she died in Malden, Massachusetts, in 1917.
