Frances Perkins
Frances Perkins (Frances Jones) was born around 1826. She married Harry Perkins (Henry Perkins) on August 23, 1863, in Memphis, Tennessee, shortly before his enlistment. The couple never had children. Her husband died of inflammation of the lungs and consumption on August 17, 1866, and she applied for a widow's pension. Although she claimed his death resulted from disease contracted while in the service, the pension office ultimately denied her application. Nothing else is known about her life.
