Annie Washington

Annie Washington (maiden name: Parker) was born on August 6, 1856, in Hanover County, Virginia. She married George Washington of the 55th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1874. His friends described her as "a good, nice, Christian woman." They lived in Springfield until 1886 and briefly resided in Chicago, Illinois, before they settled in Baltimore, Maryland. After her husband's death on June 26, 1888, she successfully applied for a widow's pension. By 1928, she was receiving $40 a month. She died in Hanover County, Virginia, on October 1, 1937.
