Dicy Morgan Rollins

Dicy Morgan Rollins was born around 1841. She married Charles Rollins on October 23, 1862, in Bloomingburg, Ohio. Following the war, the couple lived briefly in Bloomingburg before moving to Olathe, Kansas, in the spring of 1867. There, they became members of the Second Baptist Colored Church. They had two sons: Walter, born October 10, 1869; and George, born October 13, 1878, both of whom were born in Olathe. Her husband died on October 7, 1879, and she applied for a widow's pension. The government, however, denied her application. Her son, George Rollins, received a minor's pension of $8 a month from 1893 to 1894, with a man named George Hicks serving as his guardian.
