Sarah E. Lewis was born in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, on July 17, 1858. She worked as a housekeeper and lived in Meadville, a city in Crawford County. Not much is known about her early life, but she was married to a man whose last name was Chinn. It is unknown if they had any children. Her first marriage ended in her husband’s death in 1903, and she married George W. Lewis on September 13, 1905. It does not seem that the couple had any children together, although Sarah’s niece, Rosena Chinn, was living with them in 1910. George died of tuberculosis in 1916, and Sarah died sometime after him.
