Dear Father Sisters and brother
i write these few lines to you hoping to find you in good health as this leaves me at preasent we went down to pier 2 north river and took the Staten Island boat and arrived at Vanderbelts landing at 5 oclock from there we took the steam cars to the camp the distance of 4 miles and when we got there we where all put in the guard house till this morning at 8 Oclock and let free we have wooden back barracks and it is a nice place ther is about 800 men here and we expect to be transfered to the 57 Regiment / and we have plenty to eat and i have not seen the Captian yet
So no more at preasent but remaines yours truly
