Dear Sun Johney
wee once more seat our selves to see if wee can get eny word from you by writing this to you and if wee do wee shall get our pay in full it is just reported that they have got Jef davis and his crew hope it is so dont you and hiram Brown and Caria Burt air maried and the next day was the 12th day of this month and it was a snowey day and sebley Beckhorn has got a grate boy baby and it haint got eny father yet well Johney to morrow I shall turn fanney of to paster / and the old mair I expect will fold before this week is out the wether is getting fine now but wee are a fraid that the frost has killed the fruit well Johney your Mother feels proud of the flours that air in your frunt yard and she is agoing to send you some of the things so hear is a sprig of sweet clover and suthern wood and a big leaf of pepermint gerainum and their is rose bushes and lilock bushes and they make the yard look nice well Johney that Osten fellow that was in your redgiment was caried over the mountain and buried yesterday Now Johney for our advice pleas except it from your best friends Mother and / father that is dont inlist a gain for no bounty that they ofer nor eny thing els but get your discharge and come home as soon as you can you have got a good little place and it is all paid for and if you wanto you can sell it and with wha you will have besids that you can bye you a quite a farm this can bee sold for a bout 4 hundred dollars well Johney wee have sent you 4 letters before this and haint had eny from you So you must think that wee wanto hear from you it is quite sickley hear but nothing very dengerous wee are all as well as common / and hope that this will find you well and all right wee dont think of eny thing more this time this is from your father and Mother Brothers and Sister Jarvis and Hannah Phelps
