Bealton March 1st 1864

My dear Sir,
On my return I was appointed A.C.S. and have improved the leisure to overhaul my papers & among them I find the inclosed belonging to you—I have already sent you Draper's Invoices and trust you have them at hand—

Will you ask him to sign the inclosed Stationery Blanks (two Quarters) the first paper I issued I took no receipts for. Draper will have no return to make as he incurs no responsibility in signing and make my papers right. Hawthorne speaks of Custom House employees in Salem upon whose palates the flavor of particular dinners had lingered for upwards of fifty years—the remembrance of your elegant entertainment bids fair to last as long with the 32d

            In haste very truly yours
                        Isaiah F. Hoyt
