Annie E. Rundall to Francis J. Parker, 23 June 1864
Quincy Mass June 23d 64

My Dear Col.
If the weather be propitious, I shall be pleased to accept your invitation for Sunday next. I shall then expect you to tea (not iced milk) on Saturday night and go in with you according to your suggestion. Poor Col. Prescott has attested to the last, his fidelity and loyalty. the first one to fall, of the Staff past and present of the 32nd. A devoted wife, and little children will mourn his death, while our country can count another soldier in the list of the faithful. I passed / Tuesday night with our mutual friend Mrs. Hoyt, in Essex. Hoping to see you at an early hour Saturday, with regards to Mrs. Parker I remain Very Truly yours—
