Moses Ulch
Moses Ulch was born on June 27, 1842, in Ohio to Jacob Ulch and Mary Kemberling. His father died around 1848. Ulch grew up and attended school in Fremont, Ohio. He enlisted in the Union army on May 2, 1864, and mustered in as a private in Company K of the 169th Ohio Infantry. He mustered out on September 4, 1864, when his term of enlistment expired. Ulch returned to Sandusky County, Ohio, and he married Catharine Smith there on July 15, 1869. Their daughter Dora was born around 1881. He worked as a farmer, and in 1870, he owned $4,500 of real estate and $250 of personal property. His mother lived with them until her death in 1882. They moved to Ottawa County, Ohio, sometime in the 1880s, and he remained there for the rest of his life. He died on May 7, 1928.
