I now seat my self to answer your kind letter that I just reseved from you I was very gladd to hear from you you wanted to no how I liked that box I liked it furst rait evry thing was awl right in it the banjo is just as good as Georg Fornams for I hav bin oferd $18 dollars for it you said that Georg Cason was to homb you said that he swore evry word that he spoak but if he was in this regament he would not for they would cort marshell him they hav got a boy in / gard house for saying god dam it and he has bin there 4 weeks and he has bin cort marsheled and they ar going to take two months pay from him so you see that it is of no benafit to swear he belongs to our Company the Oficers ar very strict about that you said that Elen parker was gon of and you did not no but what she was going to git hiched up with Charles gaskel but she is a fool and if Martha Jane is as big a fool when I git homb I wont speak to her I should thinck that uncal Quinsy would put a stop to it if no other way ty up to homb you tell them so
I hav not bin over the world much yet but I no that if I ever get homb that I shall no more than I did when I left but I aint sory that I enlistad you said that uncal franclin was selling milk does Franck pedal any I guess not you said that Ira had not sen any money homb yet and that aint awl he wont as long as he stops in Northampton with Rob But dont tell him that I said so you said that if you had $100 dollars you could pay awl of your detts and if you can wait till July I will send you $100 and you can be indepandant then there is no news out hear now only last night I was on petroal gard and we shot / a hors and took 40 gallons of rum but the man got away that is awl the rebels that I hav seen yet aliv I hav seen 2 dead ones out hear to fort albany we ar building a road from Washington to our fort we hav to worck from 3 to 4 hours a day that comes hard to a soldier this is agrait place for roads out hear it rains out hear to night pretty hard But I am in a good house that is our beracks we hav not bin paid yet and dont no when we will and dont cair if we can git along with out money very well for uncal sam finds our clothes and grub this is awl for this timb so good by W W Harvey
