Friends at homb I reseved
your kind letter to night and was very glad to hear from you and to hear that you was well I am fat as a hog and my health is very good I never was so happy in my life there is as much music hear in our company as you can shak a stick at there is 2 fidlr hear and one gutah and one banjo and the bones tamborean and try angle cordan and we hav a darn good timb out hear now I tell you ben hear is a gold banjo it is my cap pin and I hav brock the catch and if you will git it / mendad you may wair it till I git homb dont sell it I traid and got it it is worth 6 dollars and dont sell it for the world I am coming homb awl right when this wair is over that picturr of mothers look som like her but not very ntral she is awful poor she must not wory about me for I am awl right now Ben when we comb homb you will see one of the largest shoes that you ever see in the world for there is 20 of us that is practising and our ofacers say that we can beat any thing / they ever see and when we comb homb we shall go to st Johnsbury and than you can see us play I will send you my picture with my new banjo that I traid and got in a few days there aint a nother banjo played in this regament and they ar awl after Banjo as they call me there is some of the boys after me now and so I will close by asking you to wright oftan so good night this from your son W W Harvey
