Friends at homb it is with
much plasure that I writing to you to lett you no that I am well and hope that these few lines will find you the saim there is not much news to wright now only the soldiers are going homb pretty fast but there is no sins of my gitting homb for some timb but it is as well for me to be inn the army as out for I am agitting my 16 dollars a month when it combs it will be good and a lott of it a bout my boots I want you to send them as soon as you cann for I am a gitting pretty near bairfooted and hav no money we cant draw any shoes for a month if you send them send a pair of french calf a good pair and / they will do to wair homb if I should hav the luck to gitt my discharg but it looks pretty darck I am short off money or any thing eles send me a few stamps in your next letter if you cann I cant thinck of any thing more to wright this timb wright soon and awl of the news this from your son
