            My Dear Mother
                                    Your ever welcome letter was recd and I was very glad to hear from you it has been so long I think your letter before that must have been lost for I have not recd the one you spoke of as telling me about the last no. of your book. I had to send for the book so and expect it to night but it did not come but you will get it by the first of the week. And the sock I had / forgotten about it as it was in my trunk it will be done so you can have it the last of next week.  wish I could go up and carry it to you but dont see how I can very well I hope before many months I shall be with you for good I saw Adah last sunday she says tell you she is going to answer your letter soon and Ira says every day he is going to write some but suppose that baby takes all of his time Says he is going to send you up a picture as soon as he can have some taken They / think it is some pumkins.
 
            My health is reall good and I hope it will keep so am work all the time Tell Will I am going to write to him guess sunday will be a good time
