Dear Deborah I thought I would write you a few lines again to let you know that I am well as usual excepting a little cold.
I recd your letters the first one Saturday and the other Monday I was glad to hear from you and the children as I shall always be no mater if it is every day We are now anchored out in about the midle of the river so that the boys cannot go ashore. there has about ten or twelve of the boys that has left since we came here and there is more of them that will go if they can get ashore. I am going on shore in a few minutes with the mail as I have to carry the mail both ways
We are are a getting up a brass band for this regiment and shall get the instruments to day. I shall be one of them so that I shall have quite easy times after this the Officers gives us $175 dollars toward buying the horns and the men make up the rest so that we get our horns without anny cost to us that that play them
In regard to old hogs if you cannot get along without try and put them both under bords to keep the fence Alf Lusk or Dillenbeck will attend to it for you if you ask them I guess Or The Horton probably would do it
You may tell Dillenbeck that I have not yet got his money yet but if he wants me to send him the bills I will / do it or I will keep them and get them as soon as I can and send it to him also Dooling
Make Wilder give you that mortgage when you see him and do not give him any more money. That bill of Ashlys is good against him if he does aney thing so that you can get it of him
